MY BOTTOMS UP BIRTHDAY

This weekend was finally that big birthday of mine. The few days before the date were feeling extra giddy for me… I still can’t believe I never have to use my fake IDs again! All of this excitement and I was surprisingly not feeling like getting shitfaced. Even though the past two years have been a serious detox, after the majority of my teenage days ended in blacked out oblivion – I now feel no desire to revisit the porcelain god. Fuck debauchery! I want to wake up knowing how I got home and with all the contents of my wallet and purse intact. So we kept it classy… like old ladies.

It started with my man taking me out for  brunch at this amazing spot near our place.

I had some kind of sashimi eggs benedict.
Melted in my mouth and exploded with flavor at the same time!

We had strawberry crêpes. Delightful yummy little things!

Spent the rest of the day lounging on the beach and drinking mimosas…
Still full from brunch, can you tell?!

In the evening we all went for happy hour at Apartm3nt…

And then went to go see Chelsea Lately for her Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang comedy tour! Any single guys reading this should definitely go to any of her stand up shows
ALL CHICK AUDIENCE.

The next night we went to go see Common perform with his live band.

This man is ah-mazing!

The beautiful 3 day weekend ended with a catamaran cruise out of Waikiki

for the Family Dinner video shoot!

GREAT MISS ADVENTURES

Yesterday was a beautiful day out here in Hawaii nei. Although it’s been getting chilly (about 64˚ Yes, that is “cold” here), the sun was out and a light breeze made it the perfect day for some outdoorsy adventures. My boo took me to some tidepools on the East side of the island. We equipped ourselves with sandwiches and chocolate, twisted up a couple of fattys, and we were off!

Passed by some abandoned trucks on the hike down.

I loved the cactus plants with carvings like trees.

The pools!

Finally got down to the crystal clear cool blue water!

Check the blowholes from the tide coming in!

My babe on the way back out once the sun went over the mountain.

The beach we swam at after. The leeetlest mountain in the back was the one we were at!

MARINE LIFE MANI

I’ve got some serious admiration for top notch nail art. Mani masters can be hard to find and often pricey, but I just gotta give it up! A dope manicure is like the cherry on top to go with the fresh new fits from DISSMISS (available today)!

The marine life manicure above is by  Princess Gard, a nail tech based in Ohio. I’m not a pointy tips kinda chick, but I’m feeling like I’d switch up that stance just to to rock these bright babies on a beachy get away…

WORST NIGHTMARE

Odds of being killed in a 78-year lifespan:

Heart disease 1 in 5
Cancer 1 in 7
Drowning 1 in 1,134
Bike accident 1 in 4,919
Lightning 1 in 79,746
Shark attack 1 in 3,748,067

A deadly shark attack in Santa Barbara on Friday left 19 year old Lucas Ransom dead.  He was bodyboarding with his best friend Matthew Garcia, in the a.m. when a great white shark took hold of his leg and pulled him under the waves! Garcia was only a few feet away and heard Ransom yelling, “Help me dude!” Garcia says it happened so fast, one minute they were admiring the perfect sets and the next minute the beautiful blue sea was a bloody bright red.  As huge crimson waves continued rolling in Garcia tried to find his friend but couldn’t so he decided to return to shore and go for help.  As he was swimming in he took one more look back and saw Ransom’s body pop up with his bodyboard! OMG! : ( The good friend that he was, he swam to his friend’s aid and did chest compressions as he brought him in to shore. He was mauled and lifeless.  Here’s the part that really gets to me… Hours before the attack Lucas Ransom had a conversation with his mom on the phone telling her he was going to surf at a beach he had never been to before.  She said to him, “Honey, if they’re so pretty (in reference to the waves), why don’t you just sit and watch them? You’re at a place you’ve never been to before.” He said, “Mom don’t worry.  I’ll be fine, and I’ll call you when I finish up.”

Rest In Peace Lucas Ransom
