BEHIND CLOSED DOORS WITH BARBIE…

Mariel Clayton is on some twisted shit. The self-taught photographer creates detailed fantasy worlds and uses dolls to depict the most obscene housewife secrets.

Be warned, psycho Barbie has got some skeletons in the closet! NSFW!

SHAKE IT LIKE A…

Shake it like a polaroid picture bitchessssss!!!!!

You’ve got a Flip cam and plenty of Hipstamatic filters to get you through your photographic day-to-day. But there’s nothing like the experience of a Polaroid. And it’s coming back, thanks to the skillful refurbishing of Impossible Project and Photojojo.

The three models that are being brought back to life are the original SX-70, the Rainbow OneStep, and the Sun 660 Sonar. They span three decades of Polaroid development between 1972 and 1990, and each has been hand-inspected and retooled to work like new again.  THE PACKAGING is A PLUS…LOL!

And these aren’t just any Polaroids. The SX-70 was the first to use the company’s color instant film, the first to let you watch your film develop before your very eyes. The OneStep came into being during the days of disco—the rainbow stripe is a dead giveaway—while the Sun 660 was produced well into the 90s and features sonar focusing.

There aren’t many available, and they don’t come cheap. Impossible Project and Photojojo have restored 40 each of the OneStep and the Sun 660 (at $200 each, including a pack of film)), while there are just 20 SX-70s ($350) up for sale. But these are working fossils, artifacts brought to life. The memories they evoke, and the new ones they create, are worth every penny.

Miss Guide… this reminds me of when we were in Hawaii and you broke out the polaroid camera!!!…

OH!! and my fav photographer couple, Bobby and Maria…here’s something to add  to your collection…. so you can capture candid poses like this…..

love is in the air!!!

A LOVE OF PHOTOGRAPHY…

For the inner photographer in you… these are ideal… and even more so, these cool bracelets would be great stocking stuffers for anyone you know that IZZZ a photogrpaher.

I myself know of 2 people who share a passion for photography…which this accessory would perfectly suit the both of them….

It’s Bobby and Maria (LOL) …. and they are both darling people!! And simply darling together!!!

You could buy your photographer friend a nice new lens this holiday season—and drop several hundred bucks—OR you could buy one of these charming lens bracelets. Not exactly, say, functional, but totally more cute!—and cooler than Silly Bandz.

You can pick up the set of two bracelets which will set you up for adorable scenes like the one above.  ADORBZZZZZZZ….. Hands off the idea to those who know Bobby and Maria, cause I’m gettin’ these bracelets for the both of them….

YEE HAW HALLOWEEN!

This here is a Thai Cowboy ya’ll!

I am thinking of being a dead girl, like last year.  It’s easy because I can wear anything and just do zombie make-up.  Do some blood around my mouth, dark circles around the eyes… You know… Pale face.  Or maybe I will be a black kitty cat.  Purrrrrrrr! I’ve got the ears and tail, black tights, just gotta draw on some whiskers.  Ooooo those cat eye contacts woulda been fun! But I really wish I just had a warm snuggly costume to wear tonight.  With a mask or “head” so I could go incognito! Like a mascot type costume! Gotta do that next year I guess!

What’s everyone going to be tonight/tomorrow night!? Can’t wait to see all the costumes this Halloween!!!

STRANGE BEAUTY

I have made such a fortunate finding! And by accident! Poking around an old used bookstore I came across a book of photos by Diane Arbus! All of her most wonderful works are in this book! In perfectly gorgeous condition and ridiculously cheap (under $20!!!)! I did not come here for photography today.  I came to grab a used copy of The Historian (which was read and recommended by, I believe, Miss Fortunate).  As I was walking to the check out counter I browsed lightly by the art section and one name stood out boldly amongst all others.

Diane Arbus is well known for her black and white photographs of nudists, dwarfs, and transvestites or else people whose normality seems ugly or surreal.  I have always admired her photos despite finding them sort of disturbing and weird.  I do enjoy things that are odd and different.  Sometimes a thing can be so ugly or wrong that we may find it strangely beautiful.

I left the used bookstore with both books in hand and am home now completely satisfied! The Historian is starting out quite creepy and good! And to find the Diane Arbus book is just plain old fashioned good luck! I love it, I love it!

I scanned two photos that immediately remind me of our upcoming holiday… HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

FAKE ASS FRO

Numéro October published this shoot, starring France’s Constance Jablonski. Surrounded by nature, and looking unusually tan for herself, diss miss takes on the mother persona in 70s inspired fashion. Controversial of course.

Baby boy’s look says “Damn, this chick be jockin my style.”

He looks a little pissed here. Constance, stop laughing. I think he knows your fro is fake.

Woodstock, wigs, and lullabies.

Any baby would be tired after spending a long day with an impostor.

Photographed by Greg Kadel and styled by Patti Wilson.

SHANGHAI DREAMERS AD CAMPAIGN…

Do all Chinese people look the same???

CHRISTIAN DIOR slammed over these pics used for shanghai store launch.. IS IT RACIST?

OR IS IT JUST FOR PUBLICITY??

A new series of images for Christian Dior is courting more controversy than most.  A series of photographs set to adorn the brand’s Shanghai flagship show caucasian models in haute couture posing in front of identical Chinese extras in utilitarian workwear….

CHECK THE CLOSE UPS….

Fashion bloggers were quick to slam the ‘Shanghai Dreamers’ campaign, calling it discriminatory and racist.  One wrote: ‘Are you saying all Chinese people look the same?’
