Ekundayo’s piece. He’s one of my favorite Hawaii artists right now. Bellow, view his streetart on Kapahulu and his contribution to Pow Wow.

Woe painted this. He’s another one of my favorite artists! I shared some of his art in my comic con post… The next pic is a Woebot piece I see all the time up at Fort Union.

HAWAII’S “TSUNAMI”

I have never seen so much reef sticking out of the water… The ocean was receding to the lowest of low, and within minutes surging to a hella high tide. Back and forth like that, all day. Stupid tourists wading all the way in were suddenly swimming, surrounded by deep water. A man drowned infront of the beach bar where I work, and a monk seal was stranded on the sandbar when the tide went out. The seal made it, the man didn’t.

All in all, the effect on Hawaii was pretty minor. The unpredictable tides were an odd sight to observe through the day, but they were hardly a danger to those of us smart enough to stay out of the water. On the news, I see people in California crying over their broken boats. Seriously? Get the fuck over yourselves. Thousands are dead in Japan, and hundreds of thousands more need our help now. Let us (do more than) pray.

POW WOW HAWAII

The travelling show Pow Wow hit Hawaii this month. For three days the public was invited to view international and local artists live painting at Fresh Cafe’s Loft In Space. The fourth and last day was like a gallery opening party. I showed up late, so by the time I got there it was hot, busy, and oozing with wallflowers and scenesters. Despite the serious crowding, I was able to snap a few flix…

BIG KISS from Kamea Hadar with Aaron De La Cruz‘s signature bold black patterns

Pow wow walls by Meggs, 123Klan, and Aaron De La Cruz

Piece by Jeff Hamada …should have stopped before the -ly nice.
IT’S NICE TO BE IMPORTANT BUT IT’S MORE IMPORTANT TO BE REALLY REAL.

This fishy done by the same artist who did my favorite wall piece…

Fucking sick… and I love it! Ekundayo in front of his piece.

Prime stands infront of his piece, below. That one was my other favorite…

SO SOLO… WHERE’S MY CHOLO

It’s Friday night and I’m home alone. Not mad at it. Beat from work, birthday next week, and that big brown bleezy was just too damn enticing.

Now, sofa king stoned, watching this, amazed. And…. I think this is one of those things that’s still going to be awesome sans iriEye. But right  now… it’s like watching a time lapse after my sense of time been lapsed!

♥ MISS LEAD ♥and ♥♥ MISS FORTUNATE ♥will be ^here^ v v soon!!! :)

NEED SOME HALL & OATES?

If you grew up in the 80s… this group should bring back some great memories.  DJs today remix and sample a lot of Hall & Oates tracks…. so if you don’t remember them from the 80s, you’ll remember their songs from various artists sampling their shit.

CLASSIC ALBUM COVERS…

WISHING THEY STILL LOOKED LIKE THIS….

GREAT MISS ADVENTURES

Yesterday was a beautiful day out here in Hawaii nei. Although it’s been getting chilly (about 64˚ Yes, that is “cold” here), the sun was out and a light breeze made it the perfect day for some outdoorsy adventures. My boo took me to some tidepools on the East side of the island. We equipped ourselves with sandwiches and chocolate, twisted up a couple of fattys, and we were off!

Passed by some abandoned trucks on the hike down.

I loved the cactus plants with carvings like trees.

The pools!

Finally got down to the crystal clear cool blue water!

Check the blowholes from the tide coming in!

My babe on the way back out once the sun went over the mountain.

The beach we swam at after. The leeetlest mountain in the back was the one we were at!
