POLAROID PORTRAITS
From the Middle East…
I ended up giving so many photos away! People crowded around, wanting me to take their picture with my Polaroid Camera! It was fun until the police kindly asked me to stop! Ha!
The woman in all black never had a picture taken of herself. She made me wait for her to come back with her grandchildren so that I could take their pictures as well! I was happy to oblige her! The boys did not seem too thrilled, but the little girl got her pose on!!!

You’ve got a Flip cam and plenty of Hipstamatic filters to get you through your photographic day-to-day. But there’s nothing like the experience of a Polaroid. And it’s coming back, thanks to the skillful refurbishing of Impossible Project and Photojojo.
The three models that are being brought back to life are the original SX-70, the Rainbow OneStep, and the Sun 660 Sonar. They span three decades of Polaroid development between 1972 and 1990, and each has been hand-inspected and retooled to work like new again. THE PACKAGING is A PLUS…LOL!
And these aren’t just any Polaroids. The SX-70 was the first to use the company’s color instant film, the first to let you watch your film develop before your very eyes. The OneStep came into being during the days of disco—the rainbow stripe is a dead giveaway—while the Sun 660 was produced well into the 90s and features sonar focusing.
There aren’t many available, and they don’t come cheap. Impossible Project and Photojojo have restored 40 each of the OneStep and the Sun 660 (at $200 each, including a pack of film)), while there are just 20 SX-70s ($350) up for sale. But these are working fossils, artifacts brought to life. The memories they evoke, and the new ones they create, are worth every penny.

A heat wave is happening here in San Diego! Highs in the 90′s! Feels like summer in November! It’s weird. But I took advantage and spent the afternoon relaxing at the beach. The sound of the sea is always so soothing…
I GOTTA HAVE FAITH!
Small planes make me nervous. I mean neurotic crazy girl nervous. I’ve had to ride on a few and before each flight I felt like I was making a life or death decision climbing those steps. Strapping myself in. Hearing the loud motor and feeling the power of this metal machine that was going to make me fly. My knuckles white and palms sweaty literally praying to god that I would make it to my destination. To a safe landing. Then swearing to never travel alone again, because well, I don’t want to die alone and surrounded by strangers. No one does. The last time I went for a ride, in a small plane. I was doing the usual survey of my fellow passengers, wondering about the weight of each individual and their belongings. Wondering if the plane would be too heavy to stay in the sky. As I was looking round, suddenly I see this bird take flight and I was holding my polaroid camera and I caught this magical moment!
I mean what do you think it is when things like this happen? Coincidence or luck? Divine intervention? Some message? From someone, somewhere? There I sat in my seat and watched this image develop feeling more calm and optimistic about my flight. Thinking on love and life. How precious it is. How fast it goes by. I don’t know, I guess it’s just about having faith.

FEAST BY THE SEA
After sleeping in until 10 a.m. (a real treat for me) I woke up starving for some freshly made waffles, fruit and whipped cream! Called up a few good friends to come join me for a breakfast/lunch/brunch feast by the sea! The buffet was host to a top notch selection of delightful food options! The best cheese plate around, fresh squeezed o.j., an omelet bar, salad bar, crepe station, roasted meats and fish, and I hear the bacon is salty slice of heaven! I did not indulge. Don’t forget the waffles, fresh whipping cream and fruit! My favorite! Plus more, lots more my friends… But now, I’m going into a food coma? So… Back to bed.
