Sao Paulo designer Andreia Chaves’ “invisible shoes” are covered with mirrors so they blend in with their surroundings. While you might escape accusations of conspicuous consumption while wearing them, you’ll still stand out as the lady with no feet.
Sao Paulo designer Andreia Chaves created these extraordinary ‘invisible shoes‘, which are made from a ‘faceted mirrored surface allowing the shoe to reflect different angles of the environment around it thus camouflaging itself with its surroundings’.

The new model of sneakers for Jeremy Scott’s collaboration with Adidas for their Originals collection 2011, is daring to day the least. Teddy bears are part of the shoe, fur and all. Available in pink or brown, these will hit stores in Spring 2011.
STEVE MADDEN ON THE LOOSE…
I was in disbelief when I read this… but damn, Betsey’s bailout could be Steve’s steal.
Steve Madden has taken over a $48.8 million loan to Betsey Johnson LLC that is currently in default. SEC documents filed Thursday show that if this loan is not paid by August 20, 2012, Madden will end up owning the brand and possibly the collateral that secured the loan in the first place – namely the designer and her business partner Chantal Bacon’s personal assets, as well as the company’s intellectual property, aka its brand name.
Madden spent about $27.6 million to buy out this loan through a wholly owned subsidiary formed on Thursday specifically for this transaction.
The shoe and handbag maker is no stranger to the 68-year-old Johnson‘s products and the brand. Madden holds the license for handbags, small leather goods, belts and umbrellas under the Betsey Johnson and Betseyville brands.
This financial snafu comes at a time when it could put a damper on her spring 2011 runway show at the Tents at Lincoln Center. However, as of press time, there was no word about a change, so it seems the show will go on.
Meanwhile Madden’s company seems to be on fire. The maker of Madonna’s Material Girl line and Olsenboye shoes recently bought handbag maker Big Buddah for about $11 million in cash. Last month, it made a $5 million investment in Bakers Footwear Group. The acquisition of Betsey Johnson could end up being a well-priced feather in Madden’s cap.
Calls for comment to Johnson were not returned. A Madden spokeswoman declined to comment at this time.

Converse x Missoni Collaboration
Missoni knitwear is known for its multitude of patterns such as stripes, geometrics, and abstract florals, in a kaleidoscope of colours. They are also known for the liberal use of many different fabrics such as wool, cotton, linen, rayon and silk.
Aside from the main Missoni line, the company has diversified into a variety of luxury goods. M Missoni is a less expensive line introduced over 10 years ago, Missoni Home collection which produces beautiful furnishing fabrics, as well as Missoni perfume, which is now held by Estee luder. Missoni has also started a lifestyle hotel chain, with plans to have 30 hotels open by 2012.
Now Missoni tried something different by collaborating with Converse. These Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star sneakers have Missoni prints with leather tongues. And at $200 a pair, they’re much more affordable than most Missoni pieces.
I love Missoni patterns, although on converse…. meh!
